A customizable, 3-ingredient cocktail made from ingredients you likely always have on hand, this Gin & (Cranberry Orange) Jam Cocktail is a refreshing fall sipper.
Monday started #CranberryWeek, a fun week hosted by Caroline at Caroline’s Cooking, and I kicked things off with making a Cranberry Orange Marmalade. The sweet and bitter spread is worth making now, so that you can enjoy a taste of fall with morning toast, fall entertaining (on baked brie or a cheeseboard) or in today’s recipe, but it’s also one worth bookmarking in case you buy too many cranberries this month – the marmalade will last for months.
For my second recipe of the week, I wanted to give you an easy recipe to use that marmalade – you know, in case the other ideas I gave you earlier this week wasn’t enough. For a while, I’d been wanting to try a Gin & Jam Cocktail. Sounded easy, and sounded like a fun way to make a seasonal cocktail. Any jam or marmalade you have on hand will do, but using cranberry-orange marmalade was a my nod to the season. (Thanksgiving signature cocktail anyone?)
The cocktail is both sweet from the marmalade, and savory, from the juniper notes in the gin. I found it came together best when the gin and marmalade or jam was shaken with ice in a cocktail shaker and then transferred to a glass and topped with club soda – you could simply stir the ingredients together but the marmalade doesn’t get as well incorporated into the drink.
Before I get to the recipe, I just wanted to share all of the other delicious cranberry recipes being shared today. Check them out below, or search #CranberryWeek on social media.

Love the idea of putting jam in a G&T!
Great use for that wonderful marmalade you made.
Thanks Wendy!
You’re killing me! You took that amazing jam and turned it into something even more amazing! Way to go!!!
Hello Liz 🙂 I had leftover Christmas Jam in my fridge and I used two tablespoons to make one of these creative cocktails tonight! I did not have gin, but I used vodka and I really enjoyed it so much. It was very pretty in the glass too. Great way to end the weekend!
Vodka is a great alternative to gin. So glad you enjoyed it!
