A couple of months ago, a friend of mine brought some Pampered Chef beer bread and dip to a party. The bread was incredibly flavorful – I couldn’t stop popping the little squares all night.

Last night, after working late with a couple coworkers, I came home to an empty house. I had my glass of wine on the table, Harry Potter on the tv, and was bookmarking loads of recipes I wanted to try. Since my coworkers stayed late on my behalf, I thought I’d bake them a treat over the weekend – perhaps cookies or a pound cake. I’d yet to decide on a recipe for them, but stumbled across this Beer Bread recipe. I immediately thought back to that party and how irresistible those little bites were. Knowing that homemade is always better and having nothing else on my plate, I immediately went into the kitchen to make it.Six simple ingredients, 5 minutes of prep, and an hour in the oven and you get this Beer Bread. 5 minutes later, I was done. Homemade Beer Bread is that easy! Made with just a handful of pantry staples, there’s really no need to buy a prepackaged mix. After whipping up the bread and tossing it in the oven, I went back to my seat on the couch, started this blog post, and kept my fingers crossed that the bread is everything I was hoping it would be.

It was. This bread had that wonderful spongy consistency I had hoped for. It was buttery and slightly sweet. I could happily eat it plain, topped with some butter. But it’s so sturdy that it’s a great option for serving with a dip while entertaining.
